The Polish Society of Gynecologists and Obstetricians (PTGiP) and Polish Society of Sports Medicine (PTMS) published recommendations on physical activity during pregnancy and the postpartum period. The authors discuss 1) anatomical and physiological adaptations to pregnancy in the context of physical activity, 2) assessing the pregnant woman and fetus, 3) exercise plan for pregnant women, 4) pelvic floor muscle training for the prevention of urogynecological dysfunctions, 5) labor preparation exercises, including breathing and birthing position exercises, 6) physical activity in pregnancy for obese women, 7) abdominal muscle exercises, 8) symptoms requiring cessation of physical activity, 9) physical activity for women with complicated pregnancy, 10) postpartum activity, and 11) high-intensity physical activity for pregnant women with previous high-intensity exercise experience and for professional athletes.
