The National Athletic Trainers’ Association has released a
position statement to “present recommendations for athletic trainers and other
allied health care professionals in the conservative management and prevention
of ankle sprains in athletes.” The document includes 37 recommendations
covering diagnosis, treatment and evaluation, return-to-play considerations,
prevention, as well as special considerations.
The document also offers a detailed background section that discusses these key areas of recommendations.
