The Società Italiana Scienze Motorie e Sportive released a position statement on “adapted physical activity approaches to counteract the long-term effects of COVID-19, both in general population and athletes”. The first table offers an overview of the guidelines. The document discusses 1) “endurance training programs for patients recovering from COVID-19 infection”, 2) “skeletal muscle and COVID-19 consequences: resistance training as prevention and recovery”, 3) “the role of adapted physical activity to promote the mental health and psychological well-being of patients recovering from COVID-19 infection”, and 4) “elite athletes’ management in era COVID-19”.
