The American College of Sports Medicine released a consensus statement to provide “information on the pathogenesis, nature, impacts, prevention, and treatment of the most common cold injuries”. The statement covers frostbite, nonfreezing cold injury, hypothermia, avalanche burial, snow blindness, cold water/drowning, sudden cardiac death, and the impact of cold on perofrmance.
