The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and Fédération Internationale du Médicine du Sport (FIMS) have released a consensus statement regarding preparticipation physical evaluations. The document describes preparticipation physical evaluations around the world, economic considerations, screening strategies, and controversy surrounding electrocardiogram screening.
