The recommendations include items regarding medical and family history, physical examination (i.e., general health screening, cardiovascular screening, neurologic screening, orthopaedic screening, general medical screening, medication use, nutritional assessment, heat- and hydration-related illness risk factors, and mental health considerations), and administration of PPE, determining clearance. The statement also includes a comprehensive literature review.
