The American Medical Society of Sports Medicine released a new position statement regarding overuse injuries and burnout in youth sports. The document begins with a nice executive summary of the position statement. The statement defines overuse injury; describes the relevant epidemiology and risk factors; and discusses readiness for sports, sport specialization, and prevention strategies.
